The Cultural Equity Learning Community (CELC)

When addressing equity within the United States landscape—including but not limited to equity in arts—we must face this nation’s history of genociding, enslaving, and oppressing, which continues to shape violence, class exploitation, and the “isms” in our bodies today (racism, sexism, ableism; also xenophobia, patriarchy, white supremacy, and more).

The U.S. arts and culture sector perpetuates oppression by maintaining structures that normalize how the U.S.’s organizes violence, often unconsciously. The CELC is a two-unit, 12 session, asynchronous course with wrap-around supports, open to arts and culture leaders committed to building creative justice. This program exists to support our arts and culture ecosystem - and its leadership - in progressing equity.

Since 2020, ACI has trained nearly 3K arts and culture workers through the CELC! The CELC is generously funded by Mass Cultural Council, and filmed by HipStory.
